Episode 675

Read the comic here.

Don't get me wrong. I love Grant Morrison's writing. But it can get a bit crazy for his characters.

On the other hand, I'm still extremely bitter about Joe Quesada "annulling" Pete and Mary Jane's marriage. I had this image on the groom's cake at my wedding. Mr. Editor-In-Chief-of-Marvel-Comics is messing with my own personal history now. Bastard.

I read the Wiki article about the groom cake, and was a little disturbed about the superstition of a woman sleeping with cake under her pillow to dream of her future husband. That'll be some mess.

@cat: Particularly since most groom's cakes tend to be chocolate! Hard on the sheets...

That was a new bit of trivia for me as well. I'd heard of folks saving a slice of the main wedding cake for a future anniversary (stake cake? ew.), but that's it.

My wife and I did the tradition of saving some of the main wedding cake for the 1st anniversary. Supposedly if you eat a piece of it on the 1st anniversary, it's good luck. We saved the top part of the cake (it was 3 tier) in our freezer for a year. No, it didn't taste good at /all/! ;)

Crap in a hat -- I think this is quite possibly the biggest shot across the bow I've read in BH so far. Once again I'm glad I was in the office by myself when I read this. Nicely done!

And like Colchek, we kept the top layer of our cake when we got married. Unlike Colchek, ours still tasted good. :)

The whole OMD story line didn't upset me as much, because I took it as a nice, safe wall protecting Pete and MJ's love from other editorial screwing.

Pete and MJ will always be each other's true loves, they just don't know it at the moment.
