SIGH

Hrm. I use Blogger's FTP service to manage this blog...a service they're discontinuing next month.

Switching how this works, even just going with internal blogger support, will require massive tweaks to the site.

I guess it's time for another redesign/overhaul of the Reasonably Clever experience.

As if I didn't have enough to do already.

*grump*

Ouch! Have you considered WordPress? I've installed and manage a number of WordPress sites ... its been a very enjoyable experience.

@Duckingham,

Yeah, I'm thinking about a setup similar to LEGOStar's - it'd certainly make managing the comic a lot easier. It might require finally giving up on my current webhost in addition to just fixing the blog, though...and that's another headache I'm not sure I want to go through.

Feh.

Double Ouch!

Don't know if it helps but I've found DreamHost to be very good.

This seems like a good opportunity to thank you for the work you put into this blog.

Why not just deeplink through BrickShelf images? Totally free, ftp access a breeze with them, no further changes to current setup required except perhaps no more automatically uploading a week's worth of webcomics, although I'm sure if you asked BrickShelf's support staff the right question, they might be able to figure something out for you in exchange for donations.

Wordpress and Media Temple hosting are your friends, especially since MT allows multiple sites hosted out of the same account

Is there room to have comments and discussion housed on the new BCN? Or are you set on having the discussion on the same page?

@Litch et all:
It's tempting to move the blog over to BCN, but I do like having some content live just at RC. Really, I could take advantage of blogger's internal hosting without too much trouble, but starting fresh with a complete overhaul has some appeal as well. I don't have to make a decision for a month or so, so I'm going to let ideas percolate for a bit. But thanks to all for their suggestions and concern!

I highly recommend migrating to WordPress, if you can swing it. We did so in 2006 and never looked back.

We lost comments associated with the posts, but that was a problem that I strongly suspect has been fixed in the more recent migration feature in WordPress.
