I decided not to photoshop out Teen!Whiskey's eyes in the regen-tube anymore...it's much creepier to think he's watching the events unfold outside his little window.

Jumping on the Cube Dude bandwagon
I know I haven't posted the overdue comic for today - I got sidetracked actually building something for a change.
Have you guys seen the latest Flickr LEGO fad? It's a great concept from Pixar's Angus MacLane called "Cube Dudes" - little not-quite-miniland scale creations with a very distinctive look and flavor to them. Check out the Flickr Pool here.
Anyway, I've built a couple, with a few more in the works. Here's my favorite villain, Sinestro, in Cube Dude form...

For my younger readers: Conga Line entry at Wikipedia
King Juan's final line is a reference to this classic song. (Well, maybe not that version. But that was the coolest clip I could find.)

Episode 764

For those of you who wondered yesterday: No, that wasn't a hint I'd be going back to a full-page format. I barely have time to produce the strip in 4 panels as it is.
That's not to say I won't tweak the layout in the future, though. I've been toying with the idea of making the comic more phone-friendly, and that'd require a few tweaks...
As to today's strip, King Juan leaves off his plot recap about where he started when he was gloating at Scotch a few strips back. We still don't have the full story from his perspective, but we're pretty close.

SO not cool.
Someone stole LEGO Fusker from the LEGO house.
This is bad in and of itself.
But you know what? I know the person who BUILT that cat. This person has helped out Reasonably Clever in some very important ways - like helping me acquire last year's Castle Advent calendars (before the secret US stash was released.)
So help spread the word; maybe whoever "rescued" the cat from the doomed house will rescue it a second time - back to the rightful owners.
Comics delayed
Yeah, yeah, I know. I'm behind on the strip, and toybox of fail, and just about everything. Real Life's been rather busy these past few weeks.
Working on getting back on track; I still have 5 strips planned for this week. You'll just get them Wednesday-Sunday for a change.

For the non-comic geeks out there, Tony Stark is a notorious alcoholic.
I had written the Deja-vu bit but hadn't assigned it to any specific characters in the script. Having the Donuts deliver the lines added a new level to the joke, I think.
I'm also rather pleased with the foreground blur in panels two and four. It's the little steps I take towards photographic competence that help make this effort worthwhile.

It's nice to get back to the "regular cast" and just listen to them interact for a bit. The trick is still moving the story along at the same time...

Yes, they all have the same number on their shirts. I thought about photoshopping that little detail, but it really didn't seem worth the effort. For the sake of argument, we'll say that's the detention center's ID, not a personal number.

There's been a bit of talk in the comments about how either I'm completely bloodthirsty or infected with the Trope of "No one ever really dies". Personally, I think it's a bit of both.
I blame DC comics - they really opened the revolving door on character afterlife for me.

It's a very simple build, but I like the design of Fox's blaster. I'm sure I probably picked it up from Brickshelf somewhere, but I don't recall exactly from who or when.

If you're not checking out the forums on BCN (Link over there to the right) you're probably wondering why the King's Physician is named Dr. Legostar. I'd explain it...but it's more interesting to point you to the thread that started it...

The "Green Donut" is indeed the Old-Donut-Head Regenerated. Don't freak out overmuch over it - it's a minor plot point I needed for a later strip. (As well as sort-of resolving the "why are there two Donuts" issue)
I normally try not to alter the character's facial expressions - but I needed an "KOed" face for today's strip. It's a photoshop edit - although I'm seriously considering trying to mimic it in real life. (All I did was remove the open eye from a standard Whiskey face while leaving the eyelid line)

Just because I'm wrapping things up doesn't mean there won't be moments of extreme "what the??" still to come.
