The only difference being that Darth Vader didn't regenerate his old body into a totally new one, although he had undergone major artificial limb replacement very early in his career.
What Luka will believe is anybody's guess. ;) Proving it is going to be kinda difficult unless the Soda-II armor came with a handy recording function built-in - providing it happened to be active at the time.
