I'm seriously considering ditching the forums on Reasonably Clever and moving to a blog-style update system. This would replace the old RCFeed XML, although I'd keep the comic-only RSS feed.
The main reasons for the move would be:
* To make it easier for visitors to comment on things
* To eliminate the time I have to spend pruning out spammer accounts in the forum
* Make site updates easier to track for casual visitors
At least, that's the theory. Will it work in reality?

ReplyDeleteI think the blog will work better - a simple one-page view of things that are happening on the site (instead of having to click on each competition entry, I can now just scroll down the page!), plus I don't have to sign up for the forums - which never seemed to work for me. A good move; although getting rid of the forum means no place for more off-topic discussion. I think I have to say a big thumbs up for the blog though.
